An extensive range of local cheeses is supplemented with locally sourced milk,eggs and meat, and a range of oils, condiments and ingredients to delight the most demanding chef. Everything is sourced from artisan producers, and owner Paul, is a Fair Trade retailer.
A fabulous delicatessen run by Paul Dumpleton is packed with produce made in the shop,such as vegetable flips (small pasties) and baklava, produce made locally and Fair trade produce. The cheeses are divine and what Paul does not know about cheese is not worth knowing. He stocks local and non-local types of Cheeses,Highlights are Cave Matured Cheddar, Keens, Westcomb and Montgomery's Cheddars all made from unpasteurised milk, other delights are homemade pesto sauce and roasted artichokes, hand-made swiss chocolates.
The delicatessen has many items by way of locally-produced foodstuffs here -local wines and brandies, and other beverages. Local pate and meats (their wild boar sausages are a nice luxury treat). And the clue's in the title - some great cheeses always on offer.
